Job summary

CVS Health, Oak Street Health's engineering teams, seek a Sr Software Engineer to own end-to-end backend workstreams in a healthcare context. You’ll design robust data models, implement ingestion pipelines with Databricks, and mentor engineers while ensuring testability and observability.

You’ll collaborate with product and business stakeholders to automate workflows, uphold high-quality design, and deliver reliable, scalable services across the health network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Track record of leading technical work across a team — not just executing it.

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand and automate workflows
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own
