Bandwidth is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead distributed systems that scale to millions of users. You will own services end-to-end, build REST APIs, dashboards, and cloud infrastructure, and collaborate across teams to ship measurable value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building web services in a modern language (Java strongly preferred; C#/Go welcome).
• Experience deploying cloud apps, preferably AWS.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, HTTP, REST API design.
• Experience designing distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with scale, performance optimization, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with test automation patterns and frameworks.
• Continuous learning mindset and ability to bring others along.
• Enthusiastic about AI and its impact on engineering.
• Actively use AI coding assistants in the software development lifecycle.
• Holds a 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own your services end-to-end—from design to production monitoring.
• Create and maintain REST APIs (Java/Spring), dashboards (React), and AWS infrastructure powering Numbers platform.
• Lead solutions from start to finish across teams to ship value.
• Identify and solve scaling problems for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Partner with product owners to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Use AI daily as a core engineering tool for code generation, design exploration, debugging, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement and reliability of the platform.
