Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join an agile team within the Business Banking division. You will design and deliver trusted, scalable technology products with secure coding practices.

You’ll work across frontend and backend stacks, using React.js and Python, while leveraging AWS cloud resources and responsible AI guidelines to drive quality, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Strong frontend development experience with React.JS
• Proficient in Python programming with a strong application-development focus
• Experience with AWS or other cloud environments
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to evaluate outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables, while validating outputs through peer review and secure coding standards.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation value.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met by code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations from large data sets for continuous improvement.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
