Job summary

Sift is seeking a senior software engineer to own a product area and work directly with customers to decide what to build and ship. You will influence both frontend experiences and backend systems that power agentic capabilities.

The role spans tool design, context management, and scalable deployment across cloud and on‑prem environments, with opportunities to shape MCP and agent orchestration tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Enjoy owning a product area: talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship.
• Experience building frontend web apps with React, Next.js, or similar.
• Experience building APIs or backend services with Go, Python, Rust, or similar.
• Curious about AI products and evaluating agents, models, and features.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers and partner with product to turn real review workflows into agent capabilities.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that reason over large-scale time-series data and hardware context.
• Build everything around the model that makes agents dependable: tool interfaces, sandboxed execution for agent-generated code, context and memory management, and guardrails.
• Develop and maintain Sift’s MCP server, the tool surface that lets both our agents and our customers’ AI tools query telemetry directly.
• Work across the whole stack: frontend surfaces, APIs, and run agents at scale in cloud and on-prem.
