Job summary

Sift is seeking a seasoned software engineer to own the Sift Agents product, collaborating with customers to translate workflows into agent capabilities, dashboards, and insights from telemetry. You’ll influence architecture from MVP onward, shaping the surface for frontend experiences and backend orchestration.

You will design and operate agentic systems, build tool interfaces, ensure reliability at scale, and explore frontier models across providers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Own a product area: talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it.
• Frontend web apps using React/NextJS or similar.
• APIs/backends using Go, Python, Rust or similar.
• Curious about new AI products and features; form opinions.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers and partner with product to turn real review workflows into agent capabilities.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems over large-scale time-series data and hardware context.
• Build the model-facing surface: tool interfaces and sandboxed execution for agent-generated code.
• Develop and maintain MCP server to enable telemetry queries for agents and customers.
• Work across the stack: frontend surfaces, APIs, and scalable agent runtimes (cloud and on-prem).
• Create evaluation suites to measure agent usefulness, latency, cost, and failure modes.
• Assess frontier models across providers.
