Job summary

Sift in San Francisco is seeking a senior product engineer to own features for its hardware telemetry agents. You will talk directly with customers to understand workflows, decide what to build, and shepherd the feature from MVP to every iteration after shipping.

The role spans frontend, API, and backend work, shaping tool interfaces, agent execution environments, and observability. You will operate across cloud and on‑prem environments, collaborating with customers and product teams.

Qualifications

• Have 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Own a product area: talk to customers, decide what to build and ship it.
• Built frontend web apps with React/NextJS or similar.
• Built APIs/backend services with Go, Python, Rust, or similar.
• Curious about AI products and willing to try new agents and models.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers and partner with product to turn real review workflows into agent capabilities.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that reason over time-series data and domain context.
• Build tool interfaces, sandboxed execution, and memory management for agents.
• Develop and maintain Sift’s MCP server for queries to telemetry.
• Work across the whole stack: frontend surfaces, APIs, and scalable agent execution.
