Job summary

Sift is building the data infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams. We seek a senior software engineer to own a product area of agentic systems that analyze telemetry and scale across billions of points.

You will design and ship APIs, work with Go, Python, Rust, and lead backend services on Kubernetes, focusing on reliability, observability, and real-time data processing. In-person collaboration at our Marina Del Rey, CA campus is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Own a product area: talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it.
• Experience building APIs (REST, gRPC) and complex backend services.

Responsibilities

• Talk directly to customers and partner with product to turn real review workflows into agent capabilities.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems that reason over large-scale time-series data and hardware domain context.
• Build the model-driven surface with tool interfaces, sandboxed execution, context/memory management, and guardrails.
• Build the distributed systems that support long-running agent work streams in real time, handling disconnects and restarts.
• Design and implement job-based execution systems that scale and tear down agent workloads on Kubernetes, in cloud and on-prem.
• Develop and maintain MCP server, the surface that lets agents and customer tools query telemetry directly.
• Design and implement APIs powering agentic capabilities.
