Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking a software engineering leader to oversee embedded software development in an Agile setting, coordinating engineers, project engineers, and support teams to deliver reliable radio-focused solutions onsite in the US.

The role requires a CS degree with 7–10+ years of experience, strong C/C++, Linux, and DoD Secret clearance; leadership experience is valued. The company offers extensive benefits and a path to shape critical defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 10+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Software development experience with C++, C, and Linux or similar OS.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and provide technical oversight of software engineers, project engineers, and support organizations to develop, integrate, and test embedded software in an Agile environment for software-defined radio architectures
• Create and implement strategic workforce and staffing plans to ensure the team meets objectives, including recruiting and addressing performance and career development actions
• Provide technical input to new products, processes and standards and ensure adoption by the team
• Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace development processes and standard work requirements
• Lead, direct and review the work of the team while preserving independence and autonomy
