Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Tucson, AZ team. You will lead embedded software requirements, integration and system-level verification for missile programs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and customers to ensure first-time success.

The role emphasizes MBSE, model-based design, and rigorous system engineering across software-centric programs, with on-site operations and opportunities to mentor new engineers within an experienced team.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain all system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic and/or test systems software
• Model the system and the system development and production processes using Cameo
• Conduct Trade Studies and present results to customers
• SE technical contributor for verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessed
• Work closely with the Systems, Software, Configurable Logic and Test teams on a variety of program technical tasks
• Participate in technical conversations with the customer
• Become a knowledgeable and ‘go-to’ Systems Engineer for the software centric program capabilities
• Help to onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skills
