Job summary

NinjaOne is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead to guide architecture, set technical direction, and own large-scale initiatives across multiple teams. The role emphasizes autonomy, mentorship, and delivering high-availability cloud services for millions of endpoints.

You will influence architecture, drive best practices, and collaborate with product infra and engineering teams while leveraging AI tools to improve coding and testing workflows.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Java software development for product applications.
• 5+ years designing and operating highly scalable systems.
• Experience solving complex system design challenges at scale.
• Hands-on distributed-systems patterns implementation (Saga, CQRS, outbox, circuit breaker, bulkhead, event sourcing).
• API design and RESTful services; frameworks like Spring Boot or Jersey.
• Systems integration with APIs, webhooks, and third-party platforms.
• Relational DB design, modeling, indexing, and large table querying.
• Strong OOP and quality testing practices.
• Experience using AI tools in coding, testing, debugging and review.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architecture influence for large initiatives.
• Make autonomous, high-impact technical decisions with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with product, infra, and engineering teams on practical, forward-looking solutions.
• Mentor engineers and establish technical standards across the org.
• Own multi-team initiatives and drive resolutions using customer and operational data.
• Advocate for quality and performance in software deliverables.
• Adopt AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly within the team.
