Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead to shape the technical direction of the Unified IT Operations Platform. You will own large-scale initiatives, design scalable architectures, and mentor engineers while driving best practices across teams.

The role blends autonomy with collaboration across product, infra, and engineering to deliver high-availability cloud services on AWS. We value deep system design, API-first thinking, and a strong background in Java, Kotlin, C++,

Qualifications

• 12+ years Java software development for product applications.
• 5+ years designing and operating highly scalable systems.
• Experience solving complex system design challenges at scale.
• Experience with Saga, CQRS, outbox, circuit breaker, bulkhead, event sourcing, idempotency keys.
• API design with RESTful services, Spring Boot or Jersey.
• Integration experience with APIs, webhooks, and third-party platforms.
• Relational DB design, indexing, performance tuning on large data sets.
• Strong OOP and quality testing practices.
• Active use of AI tools in coding, testing, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Influence critical architectural decisions and oversee complex tech solutions.
• Make high-impact technical choices with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with product, infra, and engineering teams on decisions.
• Mentor engineers and establish technical standards.
• Own multi-team initiatives with data-driven insights.
• Champion quality assurance and high-performing software.
• Adopt AI-assisted practices responsibly in daily work.
