Job summary

Verizon is seeking a software engineer to drive architecture, design and delivery of high‑performance enterprise applications. You will guide cross‑functional teams, work with Java, Node.js, Express.js, and RESTful services, and contribute to end-to-end IT initiatives in a hybrid work model.

You will collaborate with sprint teams, manage resources, and ensure system health and continuous integration/deployment across Linux/Unix environments, OSS integrations, and large-scale environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 5 years of post-baccalaureate software development experience.
• 5 years in software development; 3 years with JavaScript, Node.js and Express.js; 2 years with MongoDB, Oracle DB, Linux, Jenkins; 1 year with Caching Mechanism.
• Hybrid role with ability to work from home.

Responsibilities

• Develop architecture and design great products and execute IT projects to meet business needs.
• Provide technical expertise to drive change in the wireless environment and guide the team to design and implement high‑performance enterprise apps and services.
• Utilize Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, Web Services or REST and relational DBs to lead development efforts.
• Work on deployments spanning planning, integration and assurance across new initiatives.
• Collaborate with sprint teams and project management to allocate resources and resolve issues.
• Monitor system health and performance, and drive CI/CD improvements.
