Verizon in Ashburn is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to drive autonomous, intent-driven network operations and end-to-end program delivery across core modules. You will lead design reviews, set API-driven standards, and mentor teams in a cloud-native SOE environment.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Planning teams to align solutions, drive modernization, and ensure high resiliency in complex network systems across provisioning and service qualification domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience in software engineering.
• Experience architecting scalable fault management and automation solutions.
• Modernizing legacy automations into event-driven architectures.
• Strong Java/J2EE and SpringBoot background for microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud, containers, and orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end core functionality across modules (UFM, UWA, SA360/UTP).
• Lead modernization of alarm processing, ticketing, and jBPM workflows.
• Define API-driven patterns with high resiliency and observability.
• Mentor architects and development leads across teams.
• Collaborate with executives to drive technical direction and governance.
