Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Distinguished Engineer - Systems Architecture to champion security across the product lifecycle. You will guide reviews, threat modeling, and automated security processes while collaborating with engineering leadership. A strong focus on secure by design and automation is required.

You will lead engineering across Web, API, Mobile, Cloud, IoT, and AI domains, building scalable security solutions and AI agents to accelerate delivery while minimizing risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four+ years of work experience.
• Eight+ years of relevant security experience is expected.
• Security background across Web, API, Containers, Mobile, Cloud, IoT, AI.
• Hands-on with security tools (Fortify, Tenable) and deployments.
• Strong coding in Swift, Java, Scala, Python, or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead security review coverage for a portfolio of products.
• Provide guidance and domain expertise to development teams.
• Identify systemic security issues and drive enhancements.
• Track emerging threats to design robust security controls.
