Job summary

Atrium Health Cabarrus is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat adult patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across stroke and acute care units. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and care management to ensure safe outcomes and effective discharge planning in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, a current SLP license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Applicable state license for SLP required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience required; BLS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, directs and administers speech-language pathology programs in acute care.
• Plans and conducts programs to restore function and independence.
• Supervises rehab technicians, volunteers and students.
• Provides direct therapy across acute care, rehab and SNF settings.
• Documents evaluations, tests, progress and discharge notes.
• Re-evaluates patients and updates care plans as status changes.
