Job summary

Amazon.com seeks a Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to partner with site operations, executing WHS policies and ensuring regulatory compliance for the designated site. You will lead continuous improvement to reduce ergonomic and conditional risk, and build a team of safety managers and professionals.

You will train leadership in EHS policies, mentor staff, and communicate clearly across functions while guiding regional teams to adopt safety standards at sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety/environment programs.
• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required to support direct reports and site needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Safety Policies.
• Measure site performance against published requirements in safety policies and fix deficiencies.
• Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity with accurate reporting and metrics.
• Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations.
• Deep dive safety metrics and review incident trends to justify resource allocation.
• Audit record keeping and Global Safety Database entries for compliance.
• Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors for training and scoring methods.
• Manage and mentor the Safety Managers and Safety Associates at the site.
• Engage Injury Prevention Specialists and Site Leadership to drive long-term actions.
• Perform targeted Kaizen events with Operations based on identified risks.
• Ensure leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of responsibilities.
• Audit the quality and effectiveness of safety training and tools.
• Translate safety trends into action plans for Sr. Leadership.
