Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety Manager to partner with site operations, enforce WHS policies, and drive continuous improvement in safety and ergonomics across the designated site in Georgia. Lead, mentor, and train safety professionals while aligning with global safety standards.

The role requires in-depth regulatory knowledge, data-driven risk assessment, and strong communication with Directors and VPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role.
• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required to support direct reports and site needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Safety Policies.
• Measure site performance against published requirements in safety policies; identify and fix deficiencies.
• Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity with accurate reporting and metrics.
• Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations.
• Deep dive safety metrics and incident trends to allocate resources appropriately.
• Audit record keeping, safety tools, and training programs for effectiveness.
• Manage and mentor Safety Managers and Safety Associates at the site.
• Engage IPS and Site Leadership to drive long-term strategic actions to reduce incidents.
• Perform targeted Kaizen events with Operations teams based on risk.
• Train site leadership and associates on policy responsibilities.
• Review the effectiveness of safety tools and revise for continual improvement.
