Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Senior/Lead Site Reliability Engineer to own production reliability for our data-driven MEP software platform. You’ll define SLOs, instrument the system, and lead incident response across a primarily remote, Series B software company with Azure, Kubernetes, and a modern stack.

You will collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams to push reliability ownership outward, coach teams on instrumentation, and write code for tooling and automation that improves

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of professional engineering experience in a SRE/production role at a B2B SaaS company.
• Owned SLOs and error budgets, and driven engineering behavior to meet them.
• Strong observability skills with Prometheus, Loki, Tempo and Grafana; alerting impact-driven.
• Hands-on incident command experience with on-call and escalation practices.
• Solid coding ability in at least one language (Go, Python, C#, or TypeScript).

Responsibilities

• Define and own service level indicators, objectives, and error budgets with a publishable cadence.
• Build production observability: instrumentation standards, dashboards, and alerting across AKS/Azure stack.
• Establish incident response including on-call rotation, paging paths, and blameless post-mortems.
• Set recovery standards and verify through regular readiness exercises.
• Lead performance and capacity engineering with query tuning and graceful degradation.
• Collaborate on load testing and set latency thresholds aligned with SLOs.
• Drive production readiness criteria before shipping new services or changes.
• Track post-mortem actions through to verified production change and recovery.
