Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Jersey City seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to blend hands-on engineering with program leadership for platform stability across Public Cloud.

You will partner with Engineering and Product to drive reliability outcomes, reduce incidents, and optimize cost of failure through scalable automation and AI-assisted tooling. This role emphasizes leadership and technical excellence on enterprise-scale platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE or production engineering at enterprise scale.
• Demonstrated success standardizing reliability outcomes and cross-team processes.
• Deep knowledge of SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, observability, and incident response.
• Experience partnering with Engineering and Product leadership to align priorities.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure and automation fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Drive consistency across SRE teams: establish a gold standard for SLOs, on-call readiness, runbooks, postmortems, and operational readiness across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Embed reliability outcomes into roadmaps and delivery plans; convert incidents and error budgets into backlogs with measurable impact.
• Design and run operating cadences: incident/stability reviews, KPI reviews, planning inputs.
• Operationalize remediation through centralized automation while maintaining velocity.
• Identify automation opportunities and build a pipeline; track adoption and deflection.
• Own cross-platform platform stability metrics: SLO attainment, incident trends, MTTR/MTTI, change failure rate, ticket deflection.
• Apply AI/LLMs to improve triage and incident summarization with appropriate controls.
