Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Houston is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer III to help modernize mission-critical systems. You will work with code and cloud infrastructure to configure, monitor, and optimize applications and their platforms, promoting reliability and scalability.

In this role you will design service architectures, implement automated deployment pipelines, and drive improvements in reliability and performance across complex environments.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with practical experience.
• Proficient in site reliability culture and principles across an application or platform.
• Strong coding skills (e.g., Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net) with operations mindset.
• Experience in observability, monitoring, telemetry collection, and SLO/SLI usage.

Responsibilities

• Create and align on service and platform designs with engineering peers.
• Design and implement automated CI/CD deployment approaches with partner teams.
• Improve reliability, availability, and performance through hands-on engineering.
• Implement infrastructure and network-as-code for services in remit.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with subject-matter experts and stakeholders.
• Define and use SLIs/SLOs to detect risk early and address issues.
• Automate repetitive work to reduce operational toil.
