Placements24 is seeking a Senior Site Engineer in Welkom, Free State, to lead on-site civil engineering operations on major infrastructure projects. You will oversee engineering activities, ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery, and coordinate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and regulators.

The role requires a minimum of 8 years' progressive site engineering and project management experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of site engineering and project management experience.
• Experience managing large-scale civil projects (infrastructure/buildings/mining).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Project.
• ECSA registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all daily on-site engineering activities, ensuring timelines and specs are met.
• Implement and enforce stringent quality control throughout construction.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections and mitigate potential risks.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in site engineering and project management within the construction sector.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, buildings, or mining-related construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and quality standards.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using engineering software and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
