Placements24 is seeking a Site Engineer for Welkom, Free State. You will supervise daily on-site construction activities, ensure adherence to plans and safety standards, and coordinate with project staff to maintain progress.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree or diploma and 3–5 years of site experience, with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to deliver high-quality results on challenging projects.

Qualifications

• A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of site engineer or similar construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and site management.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in construction.
• Good communication and leadership to manage teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities.
• Ensure work aligns with approved plans, specs, and safety rules.
• Manage site personnel, including laborers and subcontractors.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
• Maintain accurate site records: daily logs and progress reports.
• Collaborate with project manager and foremen to resolve issues.
• Order and manage delivery of materials and equipment.
• Conduct regular site inspections for health and safety compliance.
• Assist in project scheduling and monitor progress against targets.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of site equipment.
