Job summary

Synopsys in Hillsboro, OR seeks a seasoned leader to head the Silicon Validation Engineering team focused on high-speed SerDes PHY validation. You will oversee bring-up, debugging in a state-of-the-art lab, and coordinate test boards and hardware solutions to accelerate customer-ready IP.

The role requires 10+ years in analog IC design/validation and 3+ years managing engineers. You will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and partner with design groups to ensure on-time delivery of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in analog IC design, validation, or characterization.
• 3+ years of people management leading engineering teams.
• Deep debugging skills with high-speed lab equipment.
• Strong understanding of high-speed SerDes architectures and signal integrity.
• Experience with USB, PCI Express, SATA, Ethernet; NRZ/PAM4 knowledge is a plus.
• MATLAB or Python scripting for test automation and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional Silicon Validation Engineering team on high-speed SerDes PHY validation.
• Oversee silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization in a state-of-the-art test lab.
• Review and approve characterization test plans, debug strategies, and test reports.
• Coordinate design and bring-up of test boards to support silicon testing and performance characterization.
• Mentor team members on debugging techniques and circuit analysis.
• Collaborate with analog design, product engineering, and IP release teams to align milestones.
• Drive improvements in validation workflows, test automation, and lab infrastructure.
