Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a skilled silicon emulation engineer to join our Compute Team, delivering high-performance emulation platforms and collaborations across design, verification, and software teams.

You will design, implement, and optimize emulation testbenches, interact with hardware platforms, and help with post-silicon bring-up while supporting tools for CI and data analysis. Hybrid schedule, reporting to a Silicon Engineering Lead.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or related field with 5 years of silicon development experience.
• Experience with at least one major hardware emulation platform (Palladium, Zebu, Veloce, Protium, HAPS).
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog or design verification methodologies is expected.
• Programming/scripting in C++, Python, or TCL for automation, test development, debug, and release processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design, Verification, and Software teams to simulate silicon designs and software on an emulation platform for validation.
• Design, implement, and optimize emulation testbenches balancing performance and debugging needs.
• Develop end-to-end synthesizable transactors to interface with emulated designs via software APIs and C-DPI.
• Triage and root-cause failures with emulation users using waveforms, logs, and custom monitors.
• Assist with post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and characterization tasks.
• Build infrastructure to support the emulation user base, including CI, data analysis, and training tools.
