Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Elevator Technician to support the Navy’s elevator and cargo handling systems aboard aircraft carriers. You will install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment, working closely with supervisory staff and other trades.

Travel within and outside CONUS may be required. The role requires 8 years of related experience on shipboard elevators and a DoD security clearance; HS or trade-school education suffices.

Qualifications

• Must have high school or trade school education.
• 8 years of related maintenance and repair experience on navy aircraft carriers’ shipboard elevator systems and package conveyors.
• Experience with System Operability Test (SOT III) process.

Responsibilities

• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
• Works closely with supervisory level employees and other trades.
• Trains/assists Navy personnel on shipboard systems and day-to-day operation.
• Performs maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems and related equipment.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Adheres to safety, quality, and testing procedures.
