Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Team Lead for Elevator and Weapons Handling systems on Navy ships. The role requires leading technical teams, performing repairs and testing on T-AKE, LPD, LHD, LSD, CVN, CG, and DDG class elevators and related subsystems.

Travel may be required, and DoD clearance is necessary. Responsibilities include coordinating field changes, training customer personnel, and ensuring safety and reliability of critical shipboard equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School or Trade School or equivalent required.
  • 6 years related experience including at least 2 years as a team/deck lead.
  • Experience with repair and testing of T-AKE, LPD, LHD, LSD, CVN, CG and DDG class elevators and related systems.
  • Proficiency reading drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access credentials and DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, scheduling and assigning tasks across jobs.
  • Repair, modernize, and test shipboard elevators and weapons handling systems.
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment on ships and field locations.
  • Analyze performance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate field changes and provide on-site training to customer personnel.
