Job summary

Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC, through its West Central Ohio Academy in Troy, OH, is seeking a Shift Supervisor for Residential Youth Services. This on-site role oversees staff, youth safety, and daily operations on a shift basis.

Responsibilities include staffing coordination, supervising conduct, coordinating youth appointments, and ensuring policy compliance. Mandatory experience with at-risk youth and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance use concerns in a residential setting
• Working knowledge of chemical dependency, substance use, and the effects of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
• Possession of or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to supervise staff, interact appropriately with youth, and manage sensitive situations
• Strong communication skills and sensitivity to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversity, and disabilities

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and coordinate facility operations during assigned shifts
• Make staff assignments, assist with schedules, and support appropriate staffing coverage
• Monitor employee performance and provide training, feedback, and corrective instruction
• Coordinate youth appointments, transportation, intake, and discharge activities
• Monitor youth activities, visitation, facility safety checks, and required searches
• Ensure staff follow company policies and applicable program requirements
• Review grievances, complaints, and incident reports
• Review and report incidents involving physical interventions or restraint
• Oversee medication-related responsibilities and documentation as authorized by program procedures
• Inspect living areas and maintain accurate records and shift reports
• Assist with staff training and development
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate staff and youth during fire or severe weather
