Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a Shift Leader for a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will supervise staff, oversee daily operations, and drive exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

The role involves training, onboarding, cash handling, inventory control, and collaborating with management to improve service efficiency. This position offers both full-time and part-time hours and requires in-person work at the restaurant location.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or quick service environment is highly beneficial.
• Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in financial transactions.
• Experience in an assistant manager or supervisory role is a plus.
• Knowledge of culinary practices and kitchen operations is beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective team leadership and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff during shifts, ensuring adherence to policies.
• Oversee food preparation, training new employees, and knowledge of menu and recipes.
• Assist in training new employees including interviews and onboarding processes.
• Manage cash handling procedures, including balancing registers and processing transactions accurately.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation by supervising kitchen operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the restaurant environment.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with management to implement strategies for improving service efficiency and performance.
• Inventory management and line checks; ensure prep in walk-in/other coolers.
• Ensure tasks are completed per checklist and area standards; communicate needs to GM for ordering.
• Willing to work in any area of the restaurant (Hot, Cold, Swing, Prep, Dishes, Lobby).
• Ensure cleanliness is maintained and checked before shift end.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Shift Leader to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Shift Leader will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading the team to achieve operational excellence. This role is pivotal in maintaining a positive work atmosphere while meeting the needs of our guests.

Duties:

• Willing to work in any area of Restaurant like Hot, Cold, Swing, Prep, Dishes, Lobby etc
• Ensuring the restaurant is cleaned properly and checked before the shift end so the cleanliness is maintained in all areas of restaurant.

Skills:

• Flexible to work in case of Urgent Catering Orders and flexible to start early or finish late if needed.
• Ensuring the staff is following their schedule.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.50 - $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 34 per week
