Job summary

Children's Rescue Fund seeks a Director of Building Operations to manage day-to-day operations of a Single Adult shelter in New York, NY. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with DHS/OTDA to maintain high-quality services.

The role requires strong leadership, crisis management, and proficiency with MS Office. You will drive program excellence while maintaining a client-centered operations culture across sites.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of experience in a related field.
• Experience with multi-problem Single Adults mental health population desirable.
• Proven Contract/ Vendor relationship problem and resolution solver.
• Self-guided and minimum supervision, strong supervisory skills and project management ability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Single Adult shelter location.
• Supervise Operations Manager, Shift Supervisor, Private Security and Residential Aides.
• Interview candidates and provide hiring recommendations; support staff with performance feedback.
• Address DHS, OTDA, and RSRI deficiencies; implement CAPs to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate site visits with DHS/OTDA and ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure safe environment; monitor security and incident reporting.
• Maintain communications with property owners and DHS/HERO unit.
• Coordinate shift coverage and assist with unit transfers and CARES entries.
