Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) Procurement and Contracting Services seeks a Purchaser VI in Austin to perform highly advanced purchasing for large-dollar goods and services under limited supervision, following state procurement laws and policy.

The role requires evaluating requisitions, drafting competitive specifications, directing complex solicitations, and ensuring compliance with CAPPS Financials and SCOR.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Minimum of four (4) years of purchasing, procurement, or contract management experience.
• CTCD certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates complex requisitions for compliance with applicable requirements and collaborates with program customers.
• Assists program customers with researching vendors and drafting competitive specifications to determine best value.
• Directs preparation of complex competitive solicitations in accordance with state and federal laws and HHSC policies.
