Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Purchaser IV to handle goods procurement for the Consolidated 2 team in Austin. You will process requisitions through competitive processes, draft specifications, issue solicitations, and select best-value bids in compliance with state laws.

Responsibilities include PO processing, documentation control, and teamwork with program customers and stakeholders. A CTCD certification is required within 6 months of hire, with full-time status and

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent required.
• A minimum of two years of purchasing, procurement, or contract management experience.
• State procurement experience preferred.
• CTCD certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions for completeness and compliance before processing.
• Research vendors to provide needed goods and draft competitive specifications.
• Prepare and distribute competitive solicitations and evaluate bids.
• Process requisitions to purchase orders in a financial system on time.
• Verify procurement documentation and maintain files for records.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to address purchasing issues and respond to inquiries.
• Prepare and review required reporting and related duties.
