Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior ServiceNow Architect to define the technical architecture and standards for the ServiceNow platform across enterprise environments. This role leads architecture for complex initiatives, mentors developers, and ensures clean data flows with integration design and middleware partnerships.

You will optimize performance, retire technical debt, and guide upgrade planning while enabling self-service, automation, and intelligent support across the instance.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years in IT
• 4–6+ years hands-on with ServiceNow
• BS degree or equivalent experience
• Experience implementing multiple ServiceNow modules across an enterprise
• Experience leading architecture on medium to large implementations
• Expertise in ServiceNow platform architecture
• Expertise in ITSM best practices
• Expertise in CMDB/CSDM
• Expertise in integration design
• Expertise in Flow Designer and automation
• Expertise in scoped applications
• Expertise in instance performance optimization
• Expertise in security and access design
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
• Ability to mentor developers and administrators
• Ability to translate engineering detail into business outcomes
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM preferred as a standout qualification
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect, or actively working toward it, preferred as a standout qualification

Responsibilities

• Define the technical architecture and standards for the ServiceNow platform
• Establish update set strategy, scoped applications, naming conventions, and integration patterns
• Lead architecture for complex ServiceNow work
• Review development-team designs and promote configuration over customization
• Design REST and SOAP API integrations, MID Server architecture, and event-driven patterns
• Partner with middleware and application teams to ensure clean data flows
• Monitor instance performance and scalability
• Retire technical debt and lead upgrade planning and modernization
• Provide the platform foundation for self-service, workflow automation, and intelligent support
• Mentor developers and administrators
• Bring architectural clarity to backlog refinement and sprint planning
• Resolve complex platform issues
