Job summary

ITC Federal, LLC is hiring a ServiceNow CMDB Engineer for a federal program. You will run discovery, service mapping, and build a robust CMDB by wiring assets from external feeds and ensuring data quality.

You will own CMDB health, integration feeds, and governance in a remote-first environment with occasional on-site work near Foggy Bottom, DC. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in ServiceNow, with CMDB/Discovery experience, strong scripting skills, and knowledge of enterprise infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience, including 2+ years working directly on CMDB, Discovery, or configuration management.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting ServiceNow Discovery—MID Servers, credentials, schedules, and patterns.
• Working knowledge of CMDB structure: CI classes, relationships, identification and reconciliation rules, and data normalization.
• Experience building a CMDB from the ground up—not just working in one that was already established.
• Experience building or maintaining integrations that feed the CMDB (IntegrationHub, Service Graph Connectors, or REST/SOAP).
• Scripting ability in ServiceNow—JavaScript, Glide APIs, business rules, script includes, and transform maps.
• Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure: servers, networking, virtualization, and cloud resources.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain data quality problems to people who don't work in the platform.
• Must live within commuting distance of Foggy Bottom, Washington, DC, and be available for occasional onsite work as requested by the customer.

Responsibilities

• Discovery & Service Mapping — Configure, run, and tune ServiceNow Discovery with MID Servers, credentials, schedules, probes, sensors, and patterns.
• Build and maintain application service maps to reflect real service relationships.
• Troubleshoot discovery gaps and expand coverage across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• CMDB Data Architecture & Health — Maintain CI class structure, relationships, and attributes; configure identification and reconciliation rules; data normalization.
• Build and monitor CMDB health dashboards and drive remediation.
• Asset Management Integration — Integrate HAM/SAM with the CMDB and support lifecycle tracking from procurement through disposal.
• Integrations & Data Feeds — Design and maintain integrations using IntegrationHub, Service Graph Connectors, REST/SOAP; ensure authoritative data flow without duplicates.
• Collaboration & Documentation — Partner with architects, developers, and stakeholders; document class models, discovery configurations, integration designs, and data governance; provide onsite support as needed.
