Job description

Job Title: Senior Service Technician

We are currently seeking a Senior Service Technician for our client on a direct hire basis in Buckeye, AZ. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the service team, primarily responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role also involves fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) for BESS projects. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and perform tasks at various project sites throughout the US. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.

Responsibilities:

• Commission BESS technology
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of System Power Blocks (SPBs) to adhere to warranty requirements
• Manage obligations for BESS equipment under LTSA, including:
• Energy Storage Cabinets (ESCs)
• Power Conversion Stations (PCS)
• Ring Main Units (RMUs)/Switchgear
• Transformers
• SCADA and networking devices
• Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees
• Supervise subcontractors on site when required
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
• Complete work order documentation promptly
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed
• Support client training during commissioning
• Adhere to all health and safety policies
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
• OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 accepted if OSHA 30 obtained soon after hire)
• Training and knowledge of inverters
• SCADA experience is beneficial
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, and energy storage system applications
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Experience with CMMS software preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• First Aid Trained
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Professional appearance and conduct
