Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. DCS Associate Field Service Technicians perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams, supporting technical points while delivering quality service. Based in Phoenix, AZ, you will work independently and as part of a team, depending on customer and contract requirements. The work model is remote. You will contribute to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation utilizing the ABB S-Plus Distributed Control System.
  • Performing all periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support (initially supported by ABB Senior Technical and Advanced Services until your training is complete).
  • Troubleshooting low to medium complexity tasks related to distributed control system hardware and software issues, managing technical support requests to optimize system performance.
  • Recommending ABB solutions to enhance system performance and expand value-added services to existing contracts.

Qualifications for the role
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education, military experience, and accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA Distributed Control System is a plus. Formal training and mentorship will be provided.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, with willingness to travel overnight up to 80%.
  • Experience in process automation, systems maintenance, configuration, and process control is ideal.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, customer focus, and professionalism.
  • Fluent English, valid driver’s license, and legal work authorization in the US are required.
