Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. DCS Associate Field Service Technicians perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams, supporting technical points while delivering quality service. As a DCS Associate Field Service Technician in Phoenix, AZ, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team based on customer and contract requirements.

The work model for the role is: Remote. This role contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation utilizing the ABB S-Plus Distributed Control System.
  2. Supporting all periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown activities (initial support provided by ABB Senior Technical and Advanced Services during training).
  3. Troubleshooting low to medium complexity tasks related to distributed control system hardware and software issues, managing technical support requests to optimize system performance.
  4. Suggesting ABB solutions to enhance system performance and expanding scope of value-added services to existing contracts.

Qualifications for the role
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education, military experience, and demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA Distributed Control System is a plus. Formal training, on-the-job training, and mentorship will be provided.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, willing to travel overnight up to 80%.
  • Experience in process automation, systems maintenance, configuration, and process control is ideal.
  • Commitment to excellence, effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, technical orientation, customer focus, and professionalism.
  • Fluent English, valid driver’s license, and work authorization for the US are required.
