Job summary

Swickard Auto Group is building a pipeline of qualified Service Director candidates for future openings in Portland, OR. This is a general application for fixed ops leadership across our markets, including Portland and nearby regions.

We seek proven fixed ops leaders with strong P&L discipline, CSI focus, and experience guiding technicians and service advisors. Top candidates will influence culture and drive performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Manager or Service Director experience at a franchised dealership.
• Luxury or import brand fixed ops leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated absorption performance at or above 100%.
• Strong P&L fluency; you read your department financials and act on them.
• Prior DMS experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket, Tekion, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Own the full fixed operations department -- service, parts, and body shop where applicable -- as a unified P&L with full accountability for performance.
• Drive CSI, absorption, effective labor rate, technician efficiency, and gross profit to targets -- and hold your leadership team accountable to the same.
• Develop service and parts managers -- coaching fixed ops leadership and building bench strength.
• Partner with the General Manager and variable ops leadership to align fixed ops performance with business objectives.
• Oversee manufacturer certification compliance, warranty administration, and OEM relationship management.
• Lead recruiting, retention, and development of technicians and service advisers -- fixed ops talent is the foundation of sustainable absorption.
• Monitor metrics such as absorption, hours per RO, labor rate, technician productivity, parts fill rate, and aged inventory.
