Job summary

Airlock Digital is seeking a hands-on engineering manager to lead the Server team. You will own the technical direction of a mature security product, guiding architecture, data integrity, and performance while empowering engineers across multiple countries.

You will drive delivery with a focus on security, reliability, and maintainability, mentoring engineers and collaborating with product, QA, SRE, and cloud teams to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building, shipping, and sustaining complex server-side or enterprise software.
• Experience leading a mature product spanning multiple services and data stores.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, migrations, and high-volume data.
• Record of building secure enterprise applications with authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• At least three years managing a software engineering team across career levels.
• Principal-level technical leadership setting durable direction and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Airlock Digital Server and translate priorities into executable plans.
• Lead engineers across countries with clear expectations and career development.
• Remain hands-on in design, code reviews, and high-risk delivery decisions.
• Balance delivery with security, reliability, and maintainability of a mature codebase.
• Improve documentation, testing, observability, and secure development practices.
• Coordinate with product, QA, SRE, DevOps, security, and cloud teams to improve outcomes.
