Job summary

SpaceX seeks an experienced Manager, Semiconductor Sourcing (Starlink) to own end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery of leading-edge semiconductor components. You will lead a team, negotiate long-term contracts, and drive cost, quality, speed, and supply chain resilience across critical programs.

The role requires travel up to 50%, onsite work in Redmond, WA, and collaboration with design engineering to build multi-year technology roadmaps and strategic supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following, or 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree: purchasing or procurement, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, engineering, master production scheduling.
• 3+ years of experience in a management role with direct reports

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of sourcing specialists, sourcing managers, and/or global supply managers to ensure continuity of supply for all hardware within scope.
• Drive improvement, standardization, and scalability of planning workflows and resources
• Assess employee performance and provide feedback, with corrective actions or disciplinary measures as needed
• Own vision and strategy for assigned categories through NPI and production phases, including cost management and supplier development
• Visit supplier facilities to assess capability, financial health, and capacity for contracts
• Conduct supplier analyses covering strategy, capacity, risk, and market position
• Collaborate to define SLAs and KPIs and monitor supplier performance across key metrics
• Present value propositions to SpaceX executives on contracts, cost reviews, and supply issues
• Provide guidance on design for manufacturability and trade analysis for mechanical parts
• Ensure partners support prototype builds and ramp-up for production
• Negotiate long-term contracts to secure supply and SpaceX interests
