Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc in Lawrence, MA seeks an experienced Equipment Technician for our wafer fabrication team. You will install, upgrade and maintain manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support operators and process engineers.

Strong schematics interpretation and PCB soldering experience are required. The role emphasizes safety, cleanroom procedures, and proactive maintenance to improve uptime and reliability across production lines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in equipment maintenance, semiconductor experience preferred.
• Able to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with soldering/desoldering on PCBs.
• Experience diagnosing analog and digital circuits.
• Familiar with safety and cleanroom procedures.
• Export controls eligibility for US work requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, upgrade and maintain manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain records on manufacturers' notices, upgrades and safety issues.
• Study equipment performance and reliability.
• Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.
• Provide technical support to production operators and process engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
