Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for federal and public-sector clients. The candidate should independently work and also lead a team of engineers/scientists, applying knowledge of sediment transport, site assessment, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action design.

Strong communication with clients and stakeholders is essential, as is familiarity with CERCLA and related regulatory steps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience. Travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation solutions.
• Lead engineers/scientists on sediment sites; coordinate with federal/public clients.
• Support data analysis and statistical evaluation of environmental datasets.
• Serve as technical liaison with client, the public, and outside consultants.
• Guide staff to produce technically sound documents compliant with regulations.
