CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients. The role requires independent work and the ability to lead a team of engineers and scientists, delivering technically sound designs and evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, and related settings.
• Understand principles of contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modeling and dredge approaches.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and SMEs.
• Possess expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory program steps for contaminated sites.
• Liaise with clients and outside consultants, explaining complex technical evaluations to non-specialists.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
