Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The role requires independent work and team leadership across engineers and scientists, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and technical strategy.

Strong background in evaluating remediation technologies, sediment transport concepts, and remedial design is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; 7 years of related experience.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Experience leading teams on sediment remediation projects.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
Understand principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action design/construction.
Support mathematical and statistical evaluations of environmental data.
Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager, communicating technical strategy to clients and SMEs.
Possess in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and related regulatory steps for contaminated sediment sites.
Act as a technical liaison with clients, the public, and outside consultants; present complex evaluations to non-subject matter experts.
Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure compliance with regulations.
