Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients.

The role emphasizes independent work and team leadership, with responsibilities spanning feasibility studies, remediation design, data analysis, and client communication. Domestic/international travel may be required; a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Sediment remediation experience is preferred and advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port sites.
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Act as task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and coordinating with SMEs.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance and technical soundness.
