Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled Security Install Technician to install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and related low-voltage systems on commercial sites. You will read blueprints, wire layouts, and manuals while ensuring compliance with codes and customer requirements.

The role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Install system components including devices, panels, wiring, and associated hardware per project specs.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions in a timely, professional manner.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installation work efficiently and safely.
• Complete installation documentation, work orders, and project reports accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding progress and status.
