Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to embed with the Security Technology team. You will engineer, administer, and optimize server infrastructure supporting Lenel OnGuard and Avigilon CCTV environments.

The role focuses on system upgrades, patching, architecture, and database management, partnering with internal teams and vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable security systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience engineering, administering, and supporting enterprise physical security systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard and Avigilon CCTV systems, including administration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Experience administering enterprise servers: OS updates, patches, backups, configuration, performance monitoring.
• Experience with SQL databases: administration, backups, queries, performance management.
• Understanding of enterprise system architecture, networking, security concepts, and server environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize the server infrastructure for physical security systems (Lenel/Avigilon).
• Manage server upgrades, OS updates, patches, backups, and maintenance per standards.
• Monitor health, performance, availability, and capacity; resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot server, application, database, and integration issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Support design, documentation, and optimization of security system architecture across servers, apps, databases, networks.
• Maintain SQL databases, health, backups, data integrity.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support integrations and enhancements.
• Conduct health checks, assessments, and testing before/after upgrades.
• Serve as technical point of contact for vendors and escalations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system diagrams.
