Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to join the Security Technology team in San Jose. You will engineer, administer, and optimize the server infrastructure supporting enterprise physical security systems, focusing on Lenel OnGuard and Avigilon CCTV environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years engineering, administering, and supporting enterprise physical security systems and infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard and Avigilon CCTV systems; upgrades and maintenance.
• Experience administering enterprise servers, OS updates, patches, backups, and performance monitoring.
• Experience with SQL databases including health, backups, queries, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize server infrastructure for enterprise physical security systems.
• Manage server upgrades, OS updates, patches, backups, and maintenance per vendor standards.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot complex server, application, database, and integration issues; perform root-cause analysis.
• Design and optimize security system architecture across servers, apps, databases, networks.
• Maintain SQL databases including health, backups, troubleshooting, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with R&D, IT, network, and vendors to support integrations and enhancements.
• Conduct health checks and testing to validate stability before/after upgrades.
• Serve as technical point of contact for vendors; manage escalations and improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
