Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a security-focused software engineer to design, build, and scale security-by-default capabilities across a complex multi-cloud environment. You will develop AI/ML-based platforms to detect and respond to threats, and build real-time detection systems for account compromise and data exfiltration.

You will partner with Security, Engineering, and Product teams to define security strategy, set standards, and drive secure engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with one or more of JavaScript, Java, Python, C, C++, or Go.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar for building detections and data pipelines.
• Experience designing, testing, and maintaining software with a security focus.
• Track record of leading projects independently and setting technical direction.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is a bonus.
• Hands-on with static/dynamic analysis, auth and access management, DDoS mitigation, or security scanning is a bonus.
• Background in secure SDLC practices is a bonus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional partnerships are a bonus.
• Must reside within commuting distance of, or be open to relocation to, a designated local Snowflake office.
• Must be authorized to work in the country applying; sponsorship requirements must be disclosed.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale security-by-default capabilities across Snowflake's multi-cloud environment.
• Develop intelligent security platforms and services using AI/ML and risk scoring to identify, prioritize, and respond to threats and policy violations.
• Build real-time detection and prevention systems against account compromise, AI abuse, and data exfiltration.
• Create security intelligence and monitoring capabilities to detect suspicious activity and generate actionable insights.
• Partner with Security, Engineering, and Product teams to define security strategy and drive secure engineering practices.
• Set standards for system design, code quality, and scalable security architecture.
• Protect Snowflake and its customers from fraud, account takeovers, data exfiltration, and AI security threats.
