Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch Security team. You will contribute to the architecture and design of authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation to deliver high-performance security at scale.

You will collaborate with engineering and product leaders to implement core security features, optimize performance under heavy concurrency, and apply cryptographic solutions for real customer use cases.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Experience building scalable authorization systems in distributed environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems security and zero-trust concepts.
• Knowledge of edge identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML.
• Proven experience using AI to accelerate development and debugging.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and teams in a distributed setup.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and design of Elasticsearch security features from conception to production.
• Develop foundational security models for core features.
• Optimize security performance at scale in distributed systems.
• Apply cryptographic solutions to address customer use cases.
• Ensure data isolation within shared infrastructure across tenants.
• Monitor and adopt best practices in authentication, identity management, cryptography, and data access management.
• Drive vulnerability management with the InfoSec team and remediation efforts.
• Leverage AI-driven tools to automate vulnerability triage and streamline security workflows.
