Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Senior Software Developer for the Elasticsearch Security team. You will help design and implement security features including authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation in Elasticsearch core.

You will work with engineers and product leaders to deliver high-performance security at scale, applying cryptographic solutions and ensuring data isolation across shared infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Java and JVM memory management, concurrent programming, and high-performance code.
• Experience building scalable authorization systems with distributed state.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems security, including node-to-node trust and zero-trust concepts.
• Experience with edge identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML) and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to core security initiatives from architecture to production for Elasticsearch security features.
• Develop foundational security models for features and optimize performance at scale.
• Apply cryptographic solutions to real customer use cases and ensure data isolation.
• Collaborate across teams to embed security into new customer features from the start.
• Drive vulnerability management with InfoSec, and leverage AI-driven tools to triage and automate workflows.
